Many people are suffering from self pity and lack of confidence to smile because of crooked teeth; that is why they make an effort to fix it and make things better. But, why must they do it?

There have even been studies that indicate that it only takes three seconds to make a lasting impression of seeing someone.

Whether its an interview for a job, just socializing face to face or vitually, a recent perception study conducted by Kelton, proves that the alignment of the teeth causes assumptions concerning popularity, professional success ,and intelligence.

According to a conducted study by Kelton conducted January 2012, many Americans say teeth are distinct feature when it comes to what they notice and recall when first meeting someone; and two in five Americans would not go on a second date with someone who has crooked teeth and more than half believe someone with crooked teeth would be less likely to land a job when competing with someone who has a similar skill set and experience.

Dr. Michelle Callahan, renowned TV host, relationship expert, coach, and development psychologist said: “Whether we like it or not, we are often judged by our appearance”. “Your smile has more of an effect on what others perceive about you than you think.”

A great smile makes a person more attractive, happy and intelligent. This is why many people go to the dentists not just to treat their unhealthy teeth, but also to boost their self esteem by fixing them and live a happier life than before.

A good smile can be one of your greatest assets. It’s a small and simple thing but it pays back in so many ways. Stand out in a crowd, be unforgettable, and best of all improve your overall health and appearance. Invest in your smile and have one more reason to keep smiling.
